Little Treasures

I hope you all had a great Christmas and are having a lovely vacation wherever you are.

2013 is coming very fast, and I decided to share my resolutions with you. Not the, I'll workout more or I'll go to sleep earlier (which is still a goal for me!). Instead, I'm focusing more on the things that I've always wanted to achieve or learn how to do. Leave a comment, telling me your goals for the new year!

1: Become Camera Savvy
I can use a camera just fine, but I would love to be able to use the different settings, and know about shadows and proper lighting. I would also love to use a "vintage" type camera. They seem so fun and they develop such unique pictures.

2: To Take a Cooking Class
I love to bake and cook whenever I can. To learn new recipes and such, a cooking class would be perfect! Have you ever done a cooking class?

3: To Become more Crafty
In this day in age, there are so many interesting and fun DIY projects! Some of my favorites that I am dying to try are from here {my favorite DIY blog, Stripes & Sequins}. I'm a little DIY challenged, so it will be interesting on how my projects turn out in the end.

4: Keep My Closet Organized
I will always be a little messy when it comes to my closet. I just can't help it! I'm going to start small ; pick up my clothes from the floor, fold sweaters nicely, etc. My closet is not that bad, but could always be better.

Christmas Mantles

My favorite place for decorations during the holidays is around the fireplace.  Fireplaces bring a certain warmth to a room when lit. I love when the mantles are decked out in garland, and festive decor.

Little Treasures

If you are stuck in a gift wrapping runt, I'm here to help. This week's Little Treasures are inspiration to help your wrapping. Christmas is in four days, and it's crunch time for wrapping presents. This holiday season, I've been loving simpler wrapped presents (like the ones below). Let me know your techniques and favorite wrapping "styles".

Tangerine

One of my favorite colors is Tangerine. I love the bright, and cheery color. Coincidentally, Tangerine was also the 2012 Pantone Color of the Year. They always pick great colors, and they certainly didn't choose a bad one for 2012. Tangerine is surprisingly easily to incorporate into your life. My favorite way is this fun Make Up For Ever Lipstick in #41. I will definitely be wearing Tangerine long into 2013.

It Girl: Mackenzie Horan

Hello! This week's It Girl, I am so excited about! Today I am featuring the lovely, Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling. I had the pleasure of meeting Mackenzie at a Kate Spade event about a month ago (to see more about the event, go here), she is more lovely in person! Her blog represents the classic, preppy ,girlie girl who loves anything pink and monogrammed. For the holidays, Mackenzie created a amazing DIY Letter Wreath! The wreath is so unique, and creative! She also has her online boutique, Design Darling. Let me tell you now, I love everything! Mackenzie is so sweet, kind, and incredibly talented. I am thrilled to have Mackenzie as part of my It Girl series!

Mad for Plaid

During the holidays,  it's the best time to pull out the classic plaid pieces. Plaid looks preppy, and in my opinion, it can make any look 100 times better. The festive print can be dressed up with a sequined skirt, or dressed down with boyfriend jeans and smoking slippers (like these) I love how Sarah from Classy Girls Wear Pearls wears her plaid. Perfectly preppy!
